For Lynn Rosenberg, moving to Israel was not a sudden decision—it was the result of decades of prayer, Scripture study, and intentional family conversations. Lynn and her husband Joel spent 24 years raising their four sons in Virginia, where they had built a vibrant ministry and deep community ties. But Israel had always been close to their hearts.
Lynn, who minored in Jewish Studies at Syracuse University, and Joel, who came from an Orthodox Jewish background, shared a spiritual connection to the land and people of Israel. Over the years, frequent family trips deepened that bond and laid the foundation for what would eventually become a calling.

One of the most impactful parts of Lynn Rosenberg’s story is how she and Joel involved their children in the discernment process. During their years of homeschooling, the Rosenbergs began each morning with family devotions—times of prayer, Scripture reading, and reflection on what God was saying.
It was in those quiet moments that they began to sense a call to Israel. Importantly, their sons were part of that conversation from the start. Lynn describes it not as a top-down decision, but a family mission rooted in faith, unity, and obedience.
💬 Lynn’s Quote: “We didn’t make the decision for them—we made it with them.”
When the Rosenbergs made their move in 2014, rocket attacks were already a reality. It was a tense time, and adjusting to a new culture was anything but easy. Their sons—then between 10 and 19 years old—had to adapt to a different language, educational system, and social norms.
One of their sons, Jonah, joined a local soccer team and had to learn Hebrew on the field—with no translation and high pressure. But with resilience and immersion, the family slowly found their place. They took Hebrew classes, joined local communities, and embraced life as Israeli residents.

For Americans, college is a milestone. For Israelis, it’s military service. Lynn Rosenberg explains how two of her sons have since served in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF)—an experience that requires both courage and cultural adjustment.
Military service is a significant part of Israeli life. It comes with challenges, but also with a sense of duty, identity, and pride. For Lynn, watching her sons serve was both stretching and strengthening. She sees it as part of their obedience to God’s call on their lives.

Living in Israel means living with daily tension. Bomb shelters are standard in every home, and citizens rely on alert apps to warn of incoming rockets. But rather than being ruled by fear, Lynn Rosenberg lives with peace—grounded in the knowledge that she and her family are exactly where God wants them to be.
She shares how trust in God has sustained them through every transition, danger, and season of uncertainty. For Lynn, peace isn’t the absence of conflict—it’s the presence of God in the midst of it.

Lynn Rosenberg’s story may not inspire everyone to pack up and move to Israel, but it powerfully challenges listeners to ask: Am I truly willing to follow God’s call, even when it’s hard, uncomfortable, or unconventional?
From faith-filled family decisions to cross-cultural immersion and courageous obedience, Lynn’s journey reminds us that God’s calling doesn’t always lead to easy places—but it always leads to purpose.
